Former Teknaf OC Pradeep Kumar Das, inspector Liyakat Ali and SI Nanda Dulal will be taken under the custody of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) following a remand order over Major (retd) Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan murder case.
Lt Col Ashiq Billah, director of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)'s legal and media wing, confirmed the matter on Monday night at a press conference in Cox's Bazar.
He said, "Our investigation officer has interrogated four policemen and suspected three accused during remand. They informed us important information which will help us during investigation of Major Sinha murder case."
The court has already granted seven-day remand for the trio. Now, they will be taken under the RAB custody for fair investigation, Lt Col Ashiq Billah added.
On Monday, the home ministry-formed high-powered investigation committee quizzed Pradeep, Liyakat Ali and Nanda Dulal at the Cox’s Bazar District Jail gate.
