Three boys killed in clash inside Jashore Juvenile Development Centre

Three boys were killed in clash at Jashore Juvenile Development Centreon early Thursday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Parvej Hasan Rabbi, 18, son of Roka Mia, of Moheshwarpara Dakkhinpara under Daulatpur upazila in Khulna district and Nayeem Hasan, 17, son of Nannu Pramanik, of Cholibpur Purbapara under Shibganj upazila in Bogura district and  Russel Hossain, 18, son of Nurul Islam Nuru of village Mohipur under Sherpur upazila in Bogura district.

Additional Superintendent of Police Towhidul Islam confirmed the matter.

Among the dead, Nayeem and Parvez had been detained inside the centre being convicted of rape and murder respectively.

District Special Branch (DSB) inspector Moshiur Rahman said three boys were killed in a clash took place inside the Juvenile Correction Centre in the afternoon. "Official of the centre took the bodies to Jashore 250-Bed General Hospital morgue. Details of the clash could not be known immediately," he added.

Mushfique Ahmed, probation officer of Jashore CDC, said two rival groups of were engaged in a clash few days ago which left several injured.

"In sequel to the clash, two groups locked in a clash early Thursday afternoon again with iron rods and heavy sticks, leaving nine injured. The condition of three of the injured boyes deteriorated when they were being given inside the centre. They were later taken to the hospital where the on-duty doctor declared them dead," he said.

Dr Amiyo Das of the Emergency Department of the hospital said three bodies have been brought at the hospital from the centre in a span of one and a half hours. Nayeem Hasan's body was brought at 6:38pm, Parvez Hasan's at 7:30pm and Russel's at 8:00pm.

"Deep marks of injury were noticed on the head of a dead body," he said, while the injuries of two other bodies have not been examined yet.

Police officials including superintendent of police visited the centre following the incident.
