Teenager’s floating body recovered in Dhamrai

Police recovered the floating body of a teenage girl from river Bangshi in Dhamrai upazila of Dhaka on Thursday afternoon.

Deceased Monika Akter Meem, 15, was the daughter of Monir Hossian, a resident of Sanora union in the upazila.

Neighbours said she locked in an altercation with her mother over mobile phone on Wednesday afternoon and went out of home.

Later, she jumped off a bridge in the area in the following evening.

Locals spotted her floating body in Depashai area Thursday afternoon and informed police.

Dhamrai Police Station sub-inspector (SI) Anwar Hossain said police recovered the body and sent it to a hospital morgue in the capital.
