The postmortem report of slain Major (Retd) Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan of Bangladesh Army has been submitted to Rapid Action Batallion (RAB)-15.

Cox's Bazar Police Super submitted the report on Sunday through the Cox's Bazar Civil Surgeon.

Reliable sources said the postmortem report reveals that Sinha was shot dead from point-blank range. Three shots were fired at him. Three bullets pierced through his body. Because of it, marks of six bullets were found on the body. "He died of excessive bleeding."

One of the three bullets pierced the left side of his chest, one in the centre of the chest and the other on his left hand, the report cited.

It was mentioned in the postmortem report that there were marks of injury on different parts of Sinha's body including throat and hands.

Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital's RMO Dr Shaheen Abdur Rahman sent the postmortem report to the police super through the civil surgeon on August 7. The police super sent the report to the RAB-15 Commanding Officer on Sunday.

Sinha went to Cox's Bazar on July 3 last along with Stamford University's Film and Media Studies Department's three students to make a travel video for his YouTube channel "Just Go."

He was killed in police firing at about 10:30pm on July 31 at Shamlapur Checkpost of Baharchhara union along the Cox's Bazar-Teknaf Marine Drive Road.

Later on Wednesday, his eldest sister Sharmin Shahria Ferdous filed a murder case accusing nine police personnel with a Cox's Bazar court. After the hearing, the court ordered the Teknaf Police Station OC to register the case.

Besides, the court ordered RAB-15 commander to investigate the case. Later on Thursday afternoon, seven of the accused including former Teknaf Police Station OC Pradeep Kumar Das surrendered at court. All the accused are now in Cox's Bazar District Jail.

Meanwhile, the investigating agency of the case, RAB-15, pleaded to the court on Thursday to place the accused on a 10-day remand.

Responding to the plea of the RAB official concerned Judge Helal Uddin of Teknaf Judicial Magistrate Court, verbally ordered placing Teknaf Police Station OC Pradeep Kumar Das, Baharchhara Police Investigation Centre's in-charge Inspector Liakat Ali and Sub-Inspector Nanda Dulal Rakshit on a seven-day remand.

The court also ordered to question the rest four accused--ASI Liton Mia, constables Safanur Karim, Kamal Hossain and Abdullah Al Mamun--at the jail gate.

Later, judge Helal Uddin ordered placing all the accused on a seven-day remand in his written order.
