Man killed in Noakhali rival attack

A man has been killed in an attack allegedly carried out by his rival group in Subarnachar upazila of Noakhali district over previous enmity.

The incident took place at Kanchan Bazar under Char Jabber union on Wednesday evening that also left four others injured.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Mannan, 45, a resident of Pashchim Char Jabber village under Char Jabber union in the upazila.

Local sources said Fajllul Haque Fajlu of the same village along with 10 to 12 people suddenly attacked one Abul Kashem shop's 'Janani Pharmacy', leaving five people severely injured.

The Injured were taken to Naokhali Sadar General Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared Abdul Mannan dead.

Confirming the matter, Char Jabber Police Station sub-inspector Utpal Dewan said police were deployed in the area.

Legal action will be taken if police receive a written complaint, he added.
