9 policemen sued over Major Rashed killing

A case has been filed against nine police members including Teknaf Police Station OC over retired Bangladesh Army Major Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan Adnan killing.

Major Rashed's sister Sharmin Shahriar filed the case around 11:30am on Wednesday with the court of Teknaf Senior Judicial Magistrate Tamanna Farah.

Police investigation centre inspector Liakat and Teknaf Police Station OC Pradeep Kumar Das are named in the case.

Major (Retd) Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan was killed in police firing at Shamlapur checkpost under Baharchhara union on the Cox's Bazar-Teknaf Marine Drive at about 10:00pm on August 31.

Following the incident, a three-member committee was formed with Cox's Bazar additional district magistrate Md Shajahan Ali as head. However, the committee was reorganised later on.
