NEWS24 TV's senior sports reporter Taposh Jubayer passes away



Senior sports reporter Taposh Jubayer of NEWS24, a private television channel, has passed away with coronavirus-like symptoms. He was 42.

Family sources said Taposh breathed early Saturday (August 1) morning. He became unconscious in fron of the elevator of his residence when he was heading toward his office at NEWS24 TV at about 11:00pm on Friday.

Later, Taposh was rushed to Ever Care Hospital in the capital where the authorities said that they had no empty seats in the intensive care unit (ICU). Afterward, he died on his way to Ayesha Memorial Hospital when he was being shifted to there early Saturday morning.

A pall of gloom descended in the sports arena as the death news of Jubayer spread.  

Taposh worked at different television channels including ETV, RTV, Channel 9 etc. Finally, he was working at News24.

Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF), Bangladesh Sports Writers' Association (BSWA) and Bashundhara Kings expressed profound shock at the death of Jubayer.
