Police recovered the bodies of a man and his wife from a house in Badda Police Station area of the capital early Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Rafiqul Islam Bappi, 22, and his wife Jannatul Begum, 19.
Rafiqul’s father Jalal Uddin said his son worked at a RMG factory in Badda's Satarkul area. He married Jannatul one and a half years ago and they lived in a rented house in the area.
He didn’t get any response from them after knocking their door for a long time, said Jalal.
Being informed, police rushed there and found Jannatul hanging from the ceiling while her husband lying on the bed, said the police station sub-inspector Shahidul Islam.
After recovery, the bodies were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue.
Confirming the matter, the police station officer in-charge Parvez Islam said police primarily assumed that the couple might have committed suicide.
