Fisherman goes missing in Kalapara after ship hits trawler

A fisherman went missing after a ship hit a fishing trawler in the Rabanabad river at Kalapara upazila in Patuakhali district on Thursday.

Asadur Rahman, petty officer of the Payra Port Coast Guard, said three fishermen drowned after their fishing trawler hit by a ship in the river which came back after unloading coal at Payra Power Plant in the evening. 

Other fishermen rescued Bacchu and Ruman after the trawler capsize but Mohiuddin is still missing.





A team of Coast Guard joined a rescue operation at about 7.00pm but has not yet been able to trace the missing fisherman.

Kalapara Police Station OC Khandker Mostafizur Rahman confirmed the matter.
