Ashraful Moqbul SBL new Chairman

Business Desk Md Ashraful Moqbul has recently joined Sonali Bank Limited (SBL) as Chairman of its Board of Directors.
Prior to his new assignment, Ashraful Moqbul was Senior Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh, said a press release.
He started his career at the government service through Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) in January 1981.
During his 35-year tenure, he performed in various positions in different ministries as well as in the field administration.
He served as Deputy Commissioner in Khagrachari, Pabna and Kushtia, Joint Secretary in Civil Aviation and Tourism, Divisional Commissioner of Chittagong, Additional Secretary (Education), Chairman of Land Appeal Board, Secretary/Senior Secretary of Ministry of Textiles and Jute, and Senior Secretary of Bangladesh Parliament Secretariat.
The civil servant completed his BA (Honour's) Degree in English Literature from the University of Dhaka in 1975 and MA Degree in English Literature from the same university in 1976.
