10 Gopalganj villages flooded
The sufferings of 10 villagers in Gopalganj are increasing as the fresh areas are being flooded gradually.
The district administration has already allocated 150 metric tonnes of rice and Tk 250,000 to help the flood victims.
The Madhumati river is flowing 30cm below the danger level and the Beel route canal is flowing 20cm below the red mark, said Biswajit Baidya, executive engineer of Water Development Board.
Around 10 villages and roads of low lying areas of at least five unions in Sadar, Kashiani and Muksudpur upazilas have been flooded.
About 50 families have taken shelter at Singa High School and Singa Union Health Center in Kashiani Upazila and 15 families of Ulpur Union of Sadar Upazila took shelter at Ulpur High School.
