Virus toll stands at 2,668 with 50 more deaths

Fifty more deaths from COVID-19 are reported in Bangladesh in last 24 hours, raising the total tally to 2,668.
During the same time, the positive cases surged to 2,07,453 with 2,928 new corona patients after testing 13,362 samples.
Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), confirmed the figure at the daily health bulletin.
It also informed that 1,914 more corona patients have been cured from the infection, putting the total recovery 1,13,556.
Of the 50 dead, 35 were male and 15 were female. Of them, 21 were from Dhaka division, 10 from Khulna, seven from Chittagong, five from Rajshahi, three from Sylhet, and two each from Barisal and Rangpur divisions.
The death rate is 1.29 per cent while the infection rate is 19.92 per cent.
Bangladesh reported its first three cases of COVID-19 on March 8.
Globally, the virus cases reached 14.5 million on Monday with over 606,000 deaths.
