Bangladesh reports 37 more virus deaths

The country's COVID-19 deaths reached 2,618 on Sunday as 37 more fatalities reported in last 24 hours.
At the same, the cases surged to 2,04,525 after detecting another 2,459 more virus patients, Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), confirmed the figure at the daily health bulletin.
The current death rate is 1.28 per cent and the infection rate is 23.14 per cent.
Of the 37 deceased, 29 were male while eight were female. Most of them hailed from Dhaka.
A total of 10,625 samples were tested in 80 labs across the country in the past 24 hours, Dr Nasima said.
Meanwhile, 1,546 more COVID-19 patients have recovered, taking the total recovery to 1,11,642.
The DGHS requested people suffering from the virus symptoms not to get panicked and come to their corona test booths. It also asked all to follow health guidelines properly.
Bangladesh on Sunday went past Germany in terms of confirmed COVID-19 cases to become the 16th worst-affected country in the world with 204,525 infections.
The virus has killed 604,880 people globally and infected 14,424,525 so far.
