Virus deaths near 2,500 in Bangladesh


Bangladesh's COVID-19 death tally reached 2,496 on Thursday as 39 more fatalities were registered in last 24 hours.

Of them, 31 were male and eight were female.

During this period, the infection number surged to 1,96,323 after detecting 2,733 more positive cases from 12,889 samplesAdditional Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Dr Nasima Sultana confirmed the matter at its daily health bulletin.
She informed that one more COVID-19 testing lab set up in the country. Now, total 80 laboratories are conducting corona testing.

Some 1,940 more corona patients made recovery in the past 24 hours, taking the total number to 1,06,963.

The death rate is 1.27 per cent, infection rate 21.20 per cent and the recovery rate 54.48 per cent.

Currently, 60,812 people are quarantined across the country. A total of 342,457 people have completed their quarantine course.

Dr Nasima requested people to follow health guidelines properly and to do exercise at home.
