Nurul Islam Babul, the chairman of the business conglomerate Jamuna Group, was laid to rest at Banani Graveyard in city on Tuesday afternoon with state honour.
The freedom fighter was buried around 2:30pm.
Before the burial, a namaz-e-janaza was held at Jamuna Future Park Mosque after Zohr prayers.
Before the funeral prayer, Jamuna Group managing director Shamim Islam sought doa from everyone and divine blessings for eternal peace of the departed soul of his father.
Cabinet members, representatives from political and socio-cultural organisations and business leaders attended the janaza.
The business magnate died of coronavirus at Evercare Hospital in the city on Monday afternoon. He was 74.
