The country's death tally surged to 2,391 on Monday as 39 more causalities were reported in last 24 hours.

At the same time, cases reached 1,46,894 with 3,099 more fresh cases.

Another 4,703 COVID-19 patients recovered in the past 24 hours, taking the total recovery number to 98,317.

Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Dr Nasima Sultana confirmed the matter at its daily health bulletin.
Across the country, a total of 12,423 samples were tested in 77 labs in the last 24 hours, Dr Nasima said.

The bulletin informed that the number of sample test and collection are decreasing day by day as people are reluctant to test and giving samples. Dr Nasima requested the people who needs to corona test to come.

She also informed that 50.27 per cent beds in intensive care unit (ICU) of hospitals across the country are lying vacant. Total 374 ICUs are in the country for coronavirus patients where there are used 186 beds. 

The current death rate is 1.28 per cent while the infection rate is 24.95 per cent. 

Of the dead, 30 were male and nine were female.

The DGHS asked all to follow health guidelines properly to protect everyone and their families.
