Some 10 more people including a member of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been tested positive for COVID-19 in 24 hours in Chuadanga, taking the total numbers of the virus cases to 302 here.
Chuadanga civil surgeon Dr ASM Maruf Hasan confirmed the matter on Monday morning.
A total of 34 samples were sent to PCR lab of Kushtia Medical College Hospital and the result has come this morning.
He said among the newly contacted persons, one is a BGB member, six are in Sadar, one is in Damurhuda, and the rest two are in Alamdanga upazila.
Among the total infected persons, 19 have been kept in an isolation unit in Chuadanga Sadar Hospital and the rest are in home quarantine, the civil surgeon added.
The first corona patient in the district was reported on march 19 this year.
Meanwhile, 196 patients made recovery from the virus in the district while three died.
