Cox's Bazar tourist spots and hotels will remain closed till Eid-ul-Azha to avert the spread of novel coronavirus in the district.

Senior Secretary of Local Government Ministry Helal Uddin, also coordinator of coronavirus outbreak prevention activities in the district, confirmed the matter.

Presided over by the senior secretary, a high-level meeting on COVID-19 control in the district was held at Shaheed ATM Zafar Alam CSP conference room on Saturday morning.

Cox's Bazar MPs, District Council Chairman Mostaq Ahmed Chowdhury, Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner Md Mahbub Alam Talukder, Superintendent of Police ABM Masud Hossain BPM, Army and Navy representative, Cox’s Bazar Medical College principal Dr Anupam Barua, Civil Surgeon's representative Dr Alamgir Mahiuddin, acting supervisor of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital, District Awami League unit President Advocate Sirajul Mostafa, Cox's Bazar municipality mayor Mujibur Rahman, among others, were present in the programme.

Improvement of overall health management facilities in the district, integrated relief management and many other necessary crisis topics, were discussed at the  programme and decisions also were taken regarding these matters.
