Bangladeshi farmer gunned down by BSF in C'nawabganj

A Bangladeshi farmer was reportedly shot dead by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) in Telkupi border area in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj on Saturday morning.

Deceased Jahangir was the son of Aynal Haq, a resident of Jaminpur village in the upazila.

Local sources said Jahangir locked into an altercation with the BSF members in the area around 10:00 am.

At one point, the members of Chari Anantapur BSF camp shot Jahangir to death.

Shahbazpur union’s 7 no. ward member Mofazzal Hossain confirmed the matter.

Lt Col Mahmudul Hasan, the commanding officer of Chapainawabganj Battalion 59 of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), said they heard the news and the investigation is on.
