Journo Nannu 'killed'; Wife, mother-in-law sued


The wife and mother-in-law of journalist Moazzem Hossain Nannu, who was burn to death in a fire incident at his house this month, have been sued in connection with the killing of the journalist.

Nazurul Islam Khokon, elder brother of Nannu, filed the case with Badda Police Station on Monday accusing the journalist's wife Shaheena Ahmed Pallabi,45, and mother-in-law Shanta Parvez.
Confirming the matter, OC Parvez islamA team of Gulshan division police is investigating the matter while Fire Service, CID and TiTas Gas authorities formed seperate probe bodies.

Police are investigating the death in coordination with all the committees.

Nannu, senior crime reporter of the daily Jugantor and former general secretary of Crime Reporters Association of Bangladesh, received sever burn injuries in a fire originated at his city residence early hours on June 12.

He died the following day at the Sheikh Hasina Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute.

The fire broke out at Nannu's flat at house 44/46 on road 3 in Aftabnagar under Badda Police Station early hours on June 12.

Nannu's wife Shaheena Ahmed Pallabi said gas pipe line leakage might have responsible for the fire.

Earlier on January 2, Nannu's only son  Swapnil Ahmed Piash, 24,  burnt to death an AC compressor blast at their house.
