Bangladesh records 34 more deaths from coronavirus

Thirty-four more people died of COVID-19 in Bangladesh in last 24 hours till Saturday afternoon.
Now, the death tally stood at 1,695.
Meanwhile, the infection cases reached 1,33,978 with 3,504 more positives cases after testing 15,157 samples in 58 labs.
The death rate is at 1.27 per cent while the infection rate 23.12 percent.
Confirming the figure, Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Dr Nasima Sultana said one more laboratory has been set up in Chattogram. Now, total 67 labs are across the country for corona test.
Of the deceased, 32 were men and two were women. In terms of their ages, two were between 21 and 40, six between 41 and 50, six more between 51 and 60, 13 between 61 and 70, while seven were above 71 years.
Bangladesh reported its first case on March 8.
While briefing, Dr Nasima reiterated to maintain all health rules to control the coronavirus pandemic.
Some 1,185 more COVID-19 patients have recovered in the past 24 hours, taking the total recovery number to 54,318.
The current recovery rate is 40.54 per cent.
