Man held for making 'derogatory' remarks on Bangabandhu


Police detained a man allegedly for making derogatory remarks on social media about Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Atwari upazila in Panchagarh district on Wednesday.

Arrested Khandkar Mostak Ahamed, 20, is a resident of the upazila.

Police arrested Khandkar Mostak at early hours of Wednesday for making derogatory comments about Bangabandhu and spreading hatred on social media.
General Secretary of Awami League Atwari upazila unit Md Emdadul Huq has filed a case with Atwari Police Station under Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Act.

The police station OC Md Izar Uddin said he was sent to jail following a court order.
