Assistant
sub-inspector Shamim Hasan and police source Md Rezaul were sent to
jail on Monday afternoon over a Gopalganj farmer murder case.
They were produced before Gopalganj chief judicial magistrate court at 12 noon.
On
Sunday night, Mintu Talukdar, brother of deceased Nikhil Talukdar, 32,
filed a murder case with Kotalipara Police Station against the duo.
According
to the case statement, Shamim and Rezaul were recording a video of
Nikhil and three others when they were playing cards in the afternoon of
June 2 near Ramshil Bazar Bridge in the upazila.
Except Nikhil,
others manged to flee the scene after noticing that they were being
filmed. Shamim caught Nikhil and assaulted him.
At one point, Nikhil’s spinal cord had been broken in three parts after Shamim hit Nikhil's spine with his knees.
Nikhil
was taken to Barishal Sher-e-Bnagla Medical College and, later, shifted
to Dhaka Pangu Hospital as his physical condition deteriorated.
He died around 4:00 pm on Wednesday (June 3) while undergoing treatment.
