Adopting changes during and after the pandemic

Adopting changes during and after the pandemic

For nearly five months the world has been experiencing the corona pandemic. Millions of people are being affected and more than 3 lakh people have already died from the virus. Like rest of the world, Bangladesh is also cursed with the deadly virus and presently is in peak of transmission of the virus. Till now, it may be the most deadly virus that can transmit human to human very quickly and affect people geometrically.

That's why, different countries have locked themselves down and restricted the human movement from the very beginning to stop spreading of the virus which is continuing. Till date there is no effective medicine or vaccine is available to kill the germ. Some medicines are under experiment. If any vaccine is invented it will take some several years to vaccinate all the people of the world. So, there is no relief from the virus very soon. So, what shall we do? Shall we wait staying under lock down till invention of any vaccine? Practically it may not be possible.

Covid-19 affects the mental health of a person than physical health due to panic. An USA research says that around 75000 people will commit suicidein USA due to corona virus crisis. Already we have got several cases of suicide for panic or obsession in different countries. A very recent survey reveals that 72 per cent people of Bangladeshi suffer from insomnia due to corona.

It happens because of panic of death or being affected by virus, boredom, disruption of normal life style, fear that can never be back to normal life again, uncertain future, fears of economic crisis, disaccustom of safety measure to fight against the virus and insufficient medical support as well as no specific medicine for recovering etc. Covid-19 has already affected our personal, social, political, professional life. Every systems of world have changed.

The pandemic may be quelled once but we have no relief from this deadly virus at all in near future and it is not possible for anybody to stay at home for indefinite time. So it is better to change our lifestyle to survive and back into normal life during and after the pandemic. If we think, we will notice that our lifestyle is continuously changing over the time during the pandemic. The early a person can adopt the changes, the early he or she will get relief from the obsession of the virus and get back to the normal life.

These changes may increase our living cost somehow but give us safety and the way of new lifestyle.Covid-19 is not the only disease that we are confronting in our life, there are thousands of virus and disease in the world and some are more deadly and still incurable. But hope and good news is that despite having no vaccine and specific medicine, still people can recover from this disease. Statistics shows that recovery rate from Covid-19 is much higher than the death rate. So, we should not be worried.

Naturally, human being is does not want to change lifestyle. We feel comfort to carry out known and traditional standard of living. Not only in personal life, in our social, political as well as professional life we don't like to break the rituals that we are practiced and believe on. For this human nature English novelist Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley wrote in Frankenstein "Nothing is so painful to the human mind as a great and sudden change."

But life never stops whether we accept the change or not. Change is inevitable and those are wise accept the changes and find out the alternatives. The best way to confront any unwanted changes is to think the changes in a positive way. Chinese philosopher Leo Tzu said, "Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them; that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like."

Coronavirus has snatched many things from our life but it also gives us many new good things in our life, even the environment of the world has recovered at a good extent that we had destroyed. Due to this pandemic now we maintain different personal hygiene practice like washing hands, use hand sanitizer, and face mask, maintaining social distancing etc. This hygiene practice not onlyprotects us from cororna virus but also some other disease like diarrhea, respiratory diseases, different kinds of flu etc.

Our food habit has also changed for Corona. Doctors are advising to improve immunity system by taking balance diet, vegetables, nutritious food, seasonal fruits etc. and avoiding junk food, smoking and drinking. Moreover, regular exercise to build good health is also emphasized by the doctors. Because it is already proved that good immunity system can fight against corona virus and help to recover from the virus quickly. Good immunity system helps us to protect from any other diseases also. Now we are avoiding social gathering though it is temporarily halt many important social & religious rituals like marriage, festivals etc.

Now, we are observing some social activities are being performed by maintaining social distance. Even in different offices, factories and service sectors started their business activities by maintaining social distance. Different countries like China, Denmark and some other European countries have opened the schools arranging seats in the class by maintaining social distance.

They are adopting the changes and habituate their citizens even the children with the changes. The changes give them to think in new way. Every change gives you new opportunities and different ways of living. We just have to adopt these promptly. When the change comes from nature, it is not wise to resist it. Eckhart Tolle, a popular German-American spiritual author said, "Some changes look negative on the surface but you will soon realize that space is being created in your life for something new to emerge."

As a part of fight against Coronavirus we should create mentality positively to keep pace with the changes in our personal, professional, business life. Negation to change will make our life complex and gives harms our mental health. So, be positive and change yourself, if you want to survive.
