Physician Eshanul Karim dies of coronavirus

Chattogram Marine City Medical College associate professor Dr Ehsanul Karim died of coronavirus on Wednesday. He was 42.

Dr Karim, former associate professor at the University of Science and Technology Chattogram (USTC) and a medicine specialist, died at Chattogram Medical College Hospital in the afternoon.

This is the first time, a doctor died of the novel coronavirus in Chattogram.

BMA Chattogram unit general secretary Faysal Iqbal Chowdhury confirmed the matter.

He said Dr Karim, also diagnosed with cancer, tested positive for the virus on May 29. He was admitted to the CMCH the next day, said Faysal Iqbal.
