Masjid e Nabawi opens for public from today

RIYADH, May 30: The authorities in Saudi Arabia on Saturday said Masjid e Nabawi - the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah al Munawwarah, will be opened for public from today (Sunday).
The access to Masjid e Nabawi for public will however be gradual.
Prayers at Masjid e Nabawi, along with Masijd al-Haram in Makkah were restricted following the Covid-19 outbreak in the Kingdom.
"The Prophet's Mosque in Madinah will gradually open to the public starting Sunday", The Saudi minister of Islamic affairs said.
Al-Aqsa Mosque, Muslim world's 3rd holiest place located in Jerusalem, will also reopen to worshippers from Sunday May 31.
Also opening on Sunday are over 90,000 big and small mosques in Saudi Arabia for which a massive sanitization operation is underway.
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance and its staff are all geared up to embark on maintenance, cleaning and sanitization process of more than 90,000 major and minor mosques across the Kingdom, which reopen on the dawn of Sunday.
The mosques were closed following the restrictions and lockdown announced to contain the spread of coronavirus. The two holy mosques in Makkah and Madinah - Makkah Grand Mosque and Masjid e Nabawi were not closed.     -Arab News
