Identities of Libya victims revealed


The identities of Bangladesh nationals killed in a gun attack in Libya have been revealed.

According to the Foreign Ministry information, some 26 Bangladeshi migrant workers were killed and 11 others injured in the attack, reports a Bangla news portal.

Of them, 24 have been identified as 'missing or dead' and 11 as injured.

Those identified as 'missing or dead' are: Sujon and Qamrul hailed from Gopalganj, Zakir Hossain, Sayedul, Jewel and Firuz from Madaripur, Jewel and Manik from Bidyanandi of Rajoir, Asadul, Aynal Mollah (dead) and Monir from Tekerhat, Sajeeb and Shaheen from Ishobpur, Shamim from Dudhkhali, Arfan (dead) from Dhaka, Lalchand from Tangail, Rajon, Shakil, Sakib and Sohag from Bhairab of Kishoreganj, Akash and Mohammad Ali from Rasulpur, Rahim (dead) from Hossainpur and Rakibul from Jashore.

The injured are: Firoz Bepary (bullet-hit on knee) from Teer Bagdi village in sadar of Madaripur, M Sajid (bullet-hit on abdomen) from Dulkandi village in Bhanga of Faridpur, M Janu Mia (bullet-hit on abdomen) from Shambhupur village, and sajal Mia (severely injured in both hands and mentally sick) from Jagannathpur, in Bhairab of Kishoreganj.

The other injured are: Omar Sheikh (bullet-hit on both legs and injuries in hand) from Muksudpur in Gopalganj, MTariqul Islam,22, from Moheshpur of Tangail, M Bokul Hossain,30, from Belgachhi in Alamdanga of Chuadanga, Mohammad Ali,22, from Kadambari in Rajoir of Madaripur, Sohag Ahmed,20, from Sakhipur in Bhairab of Kishoreganj, M Samrat Khalasi,29, from Ishobpur in Rajoir of Madaripur and Bappi (bullt-hit on head) of Chuadanga.

Thirty migrants including 26 Bangladeshis were shot dead by family members of a local human trafficker in Libyan town of Mizda in a revenge attack. The rest four were African nationals.

At the same time, 11 more Bangladeshis were seriously injured, according to a statement from Libya's internationally recognised Government of National Accord (GNA) said on Thursday.
