UZ vice-chairman suspended for obstructing relief distribution

UZ vice-chairman suspended for obstructing relief distribution

Tangail Sadar upazila's vice chairman Nazmul Huda Nabin has been suspended for allegedly obstructing relief distribution and assaulting a project implementation officer (PIO).

The Local Government Division of the Local Government Ministry issued a notification in this regard on Thursday.
 
According to the notification, Nabin assaulted a Project implementation officer (PIO) in Sadar upazila of Tangail for not distributing relief materials without of the list and threatened him for life.
 
With this, a total of 72 public representatives have been suspended over allegation in relief distribution after  coronavirus outbreak.

Of them, 23 were UP chairman, 45 UP members, one Zila parishad member, two municipality councillors and one upazila vice-chairman.
