Ex-AL MP Maqbul Hossain dies from coronavirus, PM condoles

Awami League leader and former member of parliament Alhaj Maqbul Hossain died from coronavirus infection on Sunday night.
He died at Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka at night while he was undergoing treatment there.
Maqbul Hossain will be buried on Monday.
His personal assistant Fazlur Rahman has confirmed media about his death.
Alhaj Maqbul Hossain had been distributing relief goods at different parts of the country including Munshiganj district amid coronavirus pandemic.
Fazlur Rahman said he tested coronavirus positive. He got admitted to the CMH in Dhaka three days ago and died there tonight (Sunday night).
It is learnt that he gave financial asisstance to the Awami League leaders nd activists at his Mohammadpur residence on May 14 last. Then he fell sick. His wife has also been undergoing treatment at Shamarita Hospital being infected with coronavirus.
It may be mentioned that former MP of Dhanmondi-Mohammadpur constituency of Jatiya Sangsad Alhaj Maqbul Hossain was the Awami League Advisory Council Member.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Awami League Advisory Council Member and former lawmaker Alhaj Maqbul Hossain.
In a condolence message, the prime minister prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
