Water Resources Ministry cancels leaves for staff


The Water Resources Ministry has cancelled all leaves of the officers and employees to take steps for tackling the sever cyclone "Amphan" that may cross Bangladesh coast during late night of May 19 to afternoon/ evening of May 20.

Deputy Minister Water Resources Ministry Enamul Haque Shamim said that his ministry has taken allout preparations to tackle the cyclone. Necessary instructions have been given  to local administrations and the sea ports.
While talking to the local administrations in Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Khulna, Mongla, Bagerhat, Patuakhali and Barguna over telephone, the deputy minister cancelled leave of all staff and asked all to remain stay at workplace to take all-out preparations to tackle the situation.

Meanwhile, State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Enamur Rahman, in an online briefing, informed that 12,078 shelter homes are kept ready in the coastal areas for 51.90 lakh people.

The coastal people will be evacuated from Tuesday morning, he added.
