Special parcel train movement on North-South route begins
The movement of special parcel train began on Friday in order to transport essential goods between the country's Northern and Southern region.
The parcel special train no 4 departed Nilphamari's Chilahati station for Khulna at about 9am.
Earlier on Thursday morning, the train started formal journey from Khulna for its destination.
Parcel train 3 and 4 will be operated daily from Chilahati to Khulna.
According to Santahar junction station sources, train services remained snapped in the country during the coronavirus situation.
The special train services opened to facilitate the traders and farmers of both the regions to transport their goods and agriculture products. But, no passenger is allowed to travel in the train, informed the sources.
The special train will leave Khulna at 9am on every Tuesday and Thursday and reach Chilahati at 8:40pm the same day.
On the other hand, it will depart Chilahati on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9am and reached the destination at 8:30pm the same day.
The train 3 and 4 will halt in 29 stations including Santahar junction station during its journey.
Parcel booking can be made in every station. In this regard, the train's guard will be informed the matter through the control room before the train departs.
