Another top official of City Bank has died of COVID-19. This is the second fatality in the bank.
Deceased Abu Sayeed was the assistant vice president at the central clearing section of the bank's head office.
He left behind his wife, only daughter and father.
Bank sources on Wednesday confirmed that Sayeed passed away at the Kurmitola General Hospital in Dhaka on Tuesday.
Earlier on April 26, the bank's First Vice President (HR Operations) Muztaba Shahriar,40, died at Mugda Medical College Hospital in the city.
City Bank sources said Sayeed worked last week and also visited three branches and held meeting with the clearing section to continue uninterrupted transaction.
One of Sayeed's friends informed that the banker had been suffering from fever, cold and cough for last few days.
He was admitted to the ICU of a hospital on Monday night following deterioration of his condition and he died on Tuesday morning.
