Bangladesh sees 19 deaths, 1,162 cases in single day


Bangladesh recorded the most coronavirus deaths in a single day with more than 19 fatalities, taking the total number to 269.

Meanwhile, 1,162 tested positive for the virus, which is also the highest number of infected cases in last 24 hours till Wednesday.

Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Dr Nasima Sultana confirmed the figures in a daily online health bulletin on Wednesday.

A total of 17,822 coronavirus patients were detected in Bangladesh till today.





Some 7,900 samples were tested in 41 labs across the country during the period, Dr Nasima added.

Meanwhile, 214 COVID-19 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the total recovery number to 3,361.
