Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered a large amount of drugs and cash money in Akhaura upazila of Brahmanbaria on Saturday evening.
Drugs and money were recovered from the house of listed drug trader Kaptan Bhuinyan, the nephew of Upazila chairman Abul Kashem.
BGB-25 raided Kaptan’s house in Kurpaika village in the evening and recovered 1,305 Yaba tablets, 121 bottles Phensedyl syrup, eight kg hemp, 40 bottles Skof and Tk 3,42,180 in cash.
Sensing presence of the law enforcers, Kaptan and his three associates managed to flee the scene.
A case has been filed with Akhaura Police Station against four--Kaptan Bhuiyan, Nozu Bhuiyan, Kawser Bhuiyan, and Kaykobad Bhuiyan--showing them fugitive.
Gangasagor BGB-25 camp commander Nayeb Subedar Rabiul Islam confirmed the matter.
