Mymensingh's top terror Shaon, 6 accomplices held, arms seized

Mymensingh's listed top terror and City Jubo League member Yasin Arafat Shaon and his six accomplices were arrested with firearms and arms making equipment by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-14.

RAB-14 personnel arrested them conducting a raid at the residence of Shaon at Purohitpara in Mymensingh town early Saturday morning.
During the raid, the RAB-14 personnel seized two pistols, a revolver, two shotguns, a telescopic site, seven ramda, huge quantity of local made weapons, ammunition, yaba and arms making equipment.

Addressing a press conference later in the afternoon, RAB-14 commander Lt Col Iftekhar Uddin said Yasin Arafat Shaon and his brother Masud Parvez are the top terrors and extortionists in Mymensingh town. There are seven to eight cases of arms, extortion, smuggling, mugging, dacoity and drug against them with different police stations.

They were arrested from the residence of Shaon at Purohitpara early Saturday morning.

He said the anti-arms and anti-narcotics drives would continue.

Process was going on to hand over the arrested persons to the Kotwali Police Station.
