Inter-upazila movement restricted in Rajshahi to stop COVID-19
Rajshahi district administration has imposed ban on public movement from one upazila to another in the district in a bid to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection.
The district deputy commissioner Md Hamidul Huque issued the order through a circular on Friday.
No people will be allowed to visit one upazila to another in the district as per the new order, said the deputy commissioner adding people from other districts will also not be allowed here.
“People must stay at their own areas during the upcoming Eid vacation and they will be refrained from visiting inter upazilas and districts,” said the circular.
The district administration asked all shopping complexes to open from 10.00am to 4.00pm. No vendors or hawkers will be allowed to open shops on footpaths in the city.
The district was put under lockdown on April 14.
A total of 17 people tested positive for coronavirus in Rajshahi, so far.
