BUP goes fully online since lockdown
Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) started online academic activities since March 26, the very first day of the lockdown, under the overall guidance of Vice Chancellor Maj Gen Ataul Hakim Sarwar Hasan.
The online activities are being monitored by the Office of the Evaluation, Faculty and Curriculum Development (OFCD) of BUP with the support of the ICT Centre, said a press release.
All course materials, lectures, presentations etc. are uploaded in the University Comprehensive Academic Manager (UCAM), a customised academic management web application developed by BUP.
Faculty and students are collaborating stream, videos/classroom interact lessons with respective class groups.
Faculty members are also using Google classrooms, Facebook group, Viber, WhatsApp and other social media to make the classes so comfortable, spontaneous and to attract the students to be interactive.
Classes have now become fruitful with above 90% participation of students.
All faculties, concerned officials contributed enthusiastically to make it success.
UGC also appreciated BUP’s effort in this regard. BUP also provided financial support to students including internet bill, cash money, different types of scholarship and stipend.
In terms of officials activities, meetings with the Deans Committee are being conducted regularly under the chairmanship of the VC through video conferencing to evaluate smoothly all academic activities.
Faculty members of the faculties are participating in the meetings at different times and informing about the progress of the educational activities and taking necessary directions and actions.
The Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) will conduct the online classes’ video conferencing activities until the Corona pandemic situation improves and the overall situation in the country returns in normal.
