Puthia upazila has become the 'coronavirus hotspot' in Rajshahi district.
Five positive cases, among eight of the district, hail from Puthia upazila.
All the infected persons are garment workers in Narayanganj district.
Local people alleged that the people who work in Narayanganj and other district come to their homes in the dark of night and roam in the area violating the social distancing rules that might raise the number of COVID-19 patients.
Upazila chairman GM Heera Bachchu said scores of people came to this upazila from Narayanganja and Gazipur in last two weeks.
Bachchu said that everyday he receives several phone calls mentioning that most of the home returnees are not obeying home quarantine rules.
UNO Waliuzzaman said the local administration has already locked down the houses of corona infected persons and they were kept at isolation.
