Twelve more people tested positive for coronavirus in Narsingdi, raising the total number infected by the virus to 104 in the district.
The district civil surgeon Dr Md Ibrahim Titon confirmed the matter on Saturday.
A coronavirus infected patient fled from the isolation ward of 100-bed District Hospital in the morning. Now police are searching to bring him back in the hospital.
Dr Titon said they collected samples from the 42 people for tests on Friday and 12 tested positive for the virus.
Bangladesh has so far reported 84 deaths and 2,144 cases of coronavirus.
On Friday, it was reported that twenty-seven people, including three physicians, tested positive for coronavirus in the preceding 24 hours.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Thursday declared the entire country as ‘vulnerable-to-infection’ zone.
