A young man was killed and another received bullet injuries in a firing allegedly by the gunman of Liberation War Affairs Ministern AKM Mozammel Haque in Kaliakoir upazila of Gazipur on Thursday night.
Deceased Shahid, 30, son of Sabur Uddin, and injured Moin uddin, 32, hailed from Aijgana village in Mirzapur upazila of Tangail district. , Police said the gunman, Kishore Kumar, also an assistant sub-inspector, along with his friends Moin and Shahid used to chat at a barren land in Kutubdia area.
They might have engaged in a quarrel over some issues on Thursday night. As a sequel, Kishore shot his two friends, leaving Shaheed dead on the spot and Moin injured, police suspect.
On information, Kaliakoir police recovered the body and rescued the injured.
Alamgir Hossain Majumdar, officer-in-charge of Kaliakoir Police Station, said Kishore went into hiding after the incident.
