New IGP pays tribute to martyred police members

New IGP pays tribute to martyred police members

New Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed
on Thursday paid tribute to the martyred police members .

He paid homage by placing a floral wreath at the Memorial of Liberation War at Dhaka's Rajarbagh Police Lines this morning, said a DMP press release.

The bugle played the national anthem while a guard of honour was given by a smartly turned out contingent to pay respect to the martyrs.

Additional IGP (admin and operations) Dr M Mainur Rahman Chowdhury and high police officials were also present.

Police had formed the first armed resistance against the Pakistan forces on March 25, 1971 during the attack on the Rajarbagh Police Lines.
