Oman-returnee dies in home-quarantine in Sunamganj

A Oman-returnee died while in home quarantine in Dowarabazar upazila of sunamganj district on Thursday morning.

The man, aged about 49, was a resident of Jalalpur area in the upazila. He returned from Oman on March 17 and had been in home quarantine following the instruction of the district health department. 

Quoting family members, Sunamganj civil surgeon Dr Shams Uddin said the man felt severe abdominal pain at about 7:00 am. But the family did not take him to hospital, and later, he died.  

Blood sample from the deceased was collected and will be sent to the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) in Dhaka for test, the civil surgeon added.
