Italy expatriate arrested under Digital Security Act
An Italy returnee in Kishoreganj district on Tuesday night was arrested under Digital Security Act for violating home quarantine rule as a precautionary measure for coronavirus outbreak.
Arrested Sheikh Hossain Md Iqbal returned from Italy on March 7. He is a resident of Gahagra village in Mithamoin upazila of the district.
Iqbal was arrested from his house at night after Mithamoin Police Station sub-inspector Nazmrul Islam filed a case against him under the Digital Security Act.
He was arrested for not following 14-day home-quarantine rule, police claimed.
