The number of quarantined people in Rangamati district raised to 115 as 35 more foreign-returnees have kept under quarantine at home.

Medical officer of the district civil surgeon office Dr Md Mostafa Kamal confirmed the matter on Monday.
Meanwhile, 115 bordering areas have been brought under strict surveillance to prevent spread of coronavirus, said the district deputy commissioner AKM Mamunur Rashid.

The district shares borders with India and Myanmar.

The district administration requested BGB to deploy its members at each bordering areas and not to allow movement of travelers through the borders, he added.

However, three 50-bed isolation units have been kept ready at Rangamati Medical College, at the district Family Planning Center, and at Kaptai Upazila Health Complex.
