Delhi violence death toll rises to 53
The death toll in the recent violence that swept through Delhi's North East district has risen to 53.
Out of these, 44 deaths were reported from the Guru Tegh Bahadur (GTB) hospital, followed by 5 from the Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) hospital, 3 at the Lok Nayak (LNJP) hospital and one at the Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital, report Indian media.
The last updated death toll in the violence was 47.
The violence which rattled the national capital for over three days started on February 24 as a clash between Hindu and Muslims supporting and opposing the new Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
