35 hurt as picnic bus plunges into ditch

At least 35 passengers were injured when a picnic bus plunged into roadside ditch in Ramu upazila of Cox's Bazar on Saturday morning.

Witnesses said the bus fell into a roadside ditch from Lomba Bridge on the Arkan road around 6:00am, leaving 35 passengers injured.

The injured were rushed to Ramu Upazila Health Complex.

Among them, 18 were referred to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital, said medical officer Dr Waliur Rahman and Anik Barua, adding that one in critical condition.

Injured Nazmul Hasan, a student of Dhaka University, said the passengers under 'Barishal, Patuakhali’s Mirzaganj upazila Students Web' organisation were going to Saint Martin from Dhaka boarding on two picnic buses.
