Booters to fight from the corner

Failing to win the first two matches of the football event of ongoing South Asian Games, the booters and red and green outfits are already in a tough spot to return to the spree to medal and their best shot to make right is their third match against Sri Lanka to be played today (Thursday) at 5:45 pm (BST) at Dasarath Rangasala Stadium at Tripureshwar, Kathmandu in Nepal.
Bangladesh was eying the gold medal in the football event of the 13th edition of SA Games. It was already confirmed that two neighbouring countries India and Pakistan were not sending the teams and other than Nepal, no real challenge for the boys was there to face. Bangladesh along with Bhutan, Sri Lanka, the Maldives and host Nepal were to play the event in a round robin system.
That way there was a chance for Bangladesh boys to bag the gold easily. But beginning the mission with a 1-0 defeat to Bhutan and playing a 1-1 tie against the Maldives in the second match, the boys are in a corner right now.
In black and white, there is still opportunity for Bangladesh to make in to the gold or at least a bronze like last time. But, the reality is it will not be so easy to do. But, head coach James Jay is definitely not the one to give up. He believes that anything is possible in football and one can do well with proper plan and skill.
Both Sri Lanka and Bangladesh got one point in their collection. Due to goal difference, the Lankans are at fourth place and Bangladesh at the bottom-line. With two points, the Maldives is at third place and with three points, Nepal contesting fort the top place and Bhutan for the second place.
