Define OSM in your point of view?
OpenStreetMap is a unique platform, which is useful to anyone who knows how to map. This free editable geo information platform with no issue of license difficulty or copyright makes it easier to access and use. It is very helpful because maps are generated immediately, spatially when a disaster strikes anywhere in the world or any humanitarian crisis. We create maps by tracing the satellite imageries which are also being used by various aid agencies for rescue and relief activities.
What inspired you to join Open Street mapping?
When I got to know about OpenStreetMap training through a Facebook event in 2015, I was amazed by the thought that I can create maps! In the training session, I got to know about the details of free map, how these geodata works and how contributing in OpenStreetMap can change the world for real.Those moments made me realize that I definitely want to know more about it. Since then, I've been working on various projects and contributing in various humanitarian crises around the world.
 What is the story behind ICT division award?I got involved as a volunteer with Kolorob by Save the Children in Bangladesh through mapping training in 2015. In 2016, I got my first job opportunity with this project.
We were 4 people from the team, dedicatedly assigned for all the mapping and field related activities- mapping the operational areas, data collection, data validation, community level workshops and training activities, promotional activities etc.
Back then, the idea of Kolorob app was to make accessible platform for low income communities and slum regarding basic service provider information like education, health, financial services, NGO etc.
Every year ICT division gives an open call for proposal submission for National Mobile Application Award, we submitted our proposal of Kolorob and won the award in 2017, under Inclusion and Empowerment category. Currently Kolorob has data of all the service provider of 110 wards of Dhaka city and makes it the first successful app based on OpenStreetMap.
Can you give some advice for the youth?
OpenStreetMap itself is a great learning resource that not only creates capacity but also opens new doors for study, incentives for work and a great way to contribute to the open data community.
