Excessive rainfall disrupts normal life in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, Oct 28: Incessant rainfall for the last four days has disrupted normal life in the city.
Students of schools and colleges, office-goers and commuters have been facing severe problems in reaching their destinations for lack of transports.
Low-income people, especially day-labourers, suffered much as rain disrupted their normal pace of life.
Many roads have been waterlogged due to the rain, intensifying people's woes. Rafiqul Islam, a day-labourer of Alupatti area said he couldn't go to work due to the rain.
Biplob Kumar, a vegetable farmer of Meherchandi area, said due to lack of sunlight, the pepper and the papaya trees started to turn yellowish due. Vegetable fields would be damaged if the rain continues.
