Sunamganj, Oct 15 : A paternal uncle and a cousin of five-year-old child Tuhin Hasan, who was brutally murdered at Kezaura village in Dirai upazila, reportedly confessed before a court on Tuesday to their involvement in the murder.Chief Judicial Magistrate Shyam Kanta Sinha recorded the confessional statements of victim's uncle Nasir Mia and cousin Shahriar, said Mizanur Rahman, superintendent of police of the district, while speaking at a press briefing at his office in the evening.
He said the family brutally murdered the minor boy only to implicate their rivals in the case.
Meanwhile, the same court placed three people, including Tuhin's father Abdul Basir, on a three-day remand in connection with the murder when police produced them before it seeking a five-day remand, said KM Nazrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Dirai Police Station.
The two others who were remanded are uncle Abdur Musabir and neighbour Jamshed Ali.
Monira Begum, mother of Tuhin, filed a case against 10 people on Tuesday in connection with the murder.
KM Nazrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Dirai Police Station, said Tuhin's mother Monira Begum filed the case with the police station accusing 10 people.
The body of the child was buried on Monday night after autopsy, the OC added.
Earlier on Monday, Tuhin, son of Abdul Baser Mia of Kezaura village in the upazila, was brutally murdered by some miscreants.
Victim's relatives said Tuhin was picked up by the killers from his house sometime at night while he was asleep.
The miscreants severed his ear, private parts and throat and hung his body from a tree. Two knives used in the murder were found stuck in his abdomen.
Considering the intensity of the violence, the news of the murder triggered widespread outcry in social media.
Police recovered the body of the child and sent it to SunamganjSadar Hospital for autopsy. Baser Mia along with his three sons and two daughters were sleeping after having their dinner like any other day. Later around 3am, they woke up hearing the sound of the door opening when Tuhin was already missing from the house. After searching for an hour they found the body of the minor hanging from a tree beside a local mosque.
Baser Mia said "I don't understand how my son was stolen from my side. I live by doing agricultural work, have no rivalry with others. How this can happen, I don't know."     -UNB
